2021 Obtained FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 Licenses and Insurance licenses from NYDFS  

2020-2025 CPA Ontario license-holder via reciprocity program between CPA Canada and SAICA 

2018 Took Oath of Office pledging allegiance and loyalty to the US Constitution as part of City Commissioner role

2014-2018 Got married and children were born

2014 Gained US Citizenship; took Pledge of Allegiance during Naturalization Ceremony in New York City

2014-2016 MBA in Finance and Leadership from NYU Stern School of Business; Graduated with Distinction 

2012 Co-founded a not-for-profit company in New York; Initial raise of over $4 million (still in existence today)

2010-2012 Played as a semi-professional on the SDA Pro Tour; Highest tour ranking of 29 in 2012

2009 Received permanent residency in the United States (via corporate sponsorship)

2008 Co-founded an international sports tournament on the island of Bermuda (still in existence today)  

2008-2013 Amateur Sportswriter; Wrote a sports blog that was referenced in the New York Times in 2013; Averaged 3,000 readers per month

2008-2013 Member of the Board of New York Squash, a not-for-profit company overseen by US Squash (US Olympic Committee member)  

2008-2013 Fundraising for Urban Development Program in Harlem, New York (raised tens of thousands of dollars in small denominations)

2008-2011 Sailing lessons in NYC; Completed various Safety at Sea courses; Sailed across the Atlantic in 6-man crew on a 55-foot catamaran

2007-2009 Completed Financial Risk Management Certification through NYU School of Professional Studies 

2006-2011 Teacher; Coached the sport of squash part time at 3 different private clubs in the New York area, US Squash Level 2 Coaching qualification

2002-2019 Chartered Accountant (CA) License through SAICA after completing 3-year articleship period at Deloitte  

2003 Moved to the United States on an H1B immigrant visa (via corporate sponsorship) 

2000-2005 Travelled to over 40 countries; Completed 100+ scuba dives in various countries; Obtained PADI Advanced open water diving qualification 

2000 Wrote and passed SAICA Board Exams in Accounting and Auditing to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (CA)

1998-2002 Played soccer as an amateur; Played in the FA Cup in Bermuda in 2002

1998-2000 Played as member of the Easterns provincial team at Jarvis Cup (Squash nationals); Winner of the "B" section in 1999

1996 Attended a Government Budgetary session in Parliament (presided over by Nelson Mandela) after winning an economics competition  

1995-2000 Teacher, part time work as economics and accounting tutor for undergraduate students at NMU 

1993-1997 Obtained highest level surf lifesaving and fresh water life saving qualifications and worked as a lifeguard 

1993-1997 Bachelor of Commerce Dual Degree in Accounting and Economics from Nelson Mandela University in South Africa; Graduated with Honors in Accounting (5 years, full time)

1993-1996 Student athlete; Squash team captain; Highest team finish at South African Universities competition was 3rd nationally 

1992-1993 South African Air Force veteran; Mandatory military service; Recipient of service medal; Selected for General’s driver/bodyguard training 

1987-1991 Attended Grey High School in South Africa; Matriculated with Honors (full colors awards) for Academics and Sports; Victor Ludorum recipient; Student Officer in Cadet detachment; School newspaper reporter (sportswriter)
